Latch Hook Instructions

Latch hook instructions, or how to use your latch hook tool to create nice rug of yarn.
1. Grasp the latch hook in your right hand. Fold one piece of precut rug yarn exactly in half around the shank of the hook below the latch. Hold the yarn in place using your right index finger. |
2. Insert the tip of the hook into one hole of the canvas and then out of the hole directly above. Push the hook through, past the latch; until the canvas threads are over the shank of the hook. |
3. Grasp both ends of the yarn between your left tumb and your forefinger. The latch must be open. Place the yarn end over the latch (between the latch and the hook).
| 4. Pull the hook towards you until the latch meets the hook, closing over the yarn. Release the yarn ends with your fingers. Pull the hook sharply towards you to complete the knowt around the canvas threads. |
5. Tighten the knot by pulling the two yarn ends towards you evenly.
Just repeat the process. |
